We are a secure marketplace that instantly matches tutors and students. Our marketplace supports online and in-person tutoring sessions. Our team spends a great deal of time choosing tutors to be on our platform. Tutors listed on our platform are primarily college students or recent college graduates. We want students to have the best experience possible, so our team interviews each tutor to ensure they are reliable and skilled. Our platform is certified A by SSL Labs.
Our Mission
Our goal at Takavi Tutors is to provide students with high-quality tutors who will go an extra mile to ensure student success. Students have an immense amount of pressure on them to score well on exams, and we want students to leave a session feeling more confident about topics they were struggling with. As new educational approaches continue to increase, we enlist tutors who are learning these approaches and can teach our students with them.
Our Story
Takavi Tutors was inspired by founder Jasmin “Jasi” Mossavi’s passion for tutoring. While taking a gap year after high school, she began tutoring to help save for books and tuition, and to provide students with high-quality, affordable tutoring services. After finishing her gap year, she tutored throughout college and continues to do so today. Her eight years of experience taught her that being a great tutor is about more than the price you charge or the time you spend in sessions. She realized that the most important element in tutoring business is the patience because every student has his or her own learning process and one must adapt to that unique process to deliver what is needed. It is not an easy trait to come by and this presented an opportunity to find like-minded tutors and help fill in the gaps of the tutoring industry. After some thought into the idea, she consulted one of her friends and together they decided to go pro and deliver what was missing – patience oriented results!
